Gregg Malcolm Parker, age 82, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 15, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Martha Hays (Rouark) Parker and Howard M. Parker.
His given name comes from the family name of his maternal grandmother, Maude Esther (Gregg) Rouark. When he was a boy, his family called him Gregory. Following his graduation from Logan Elm High School in Circleville, Ohio, Gregg enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served for three years. His military service gave him a sharpshooter title and he received a National Defense Service medal. A proud veteran, Gregg enjoyed reminiscing of his days during active duty.
Gregg worked at U-Haul for 30 years and enjoyed fishing. He never met a stranger and loved to start a conversation with, “What do you think about this beautiful weather?” While his extended family will miss him greatly, they have peace in knowing he has joined the love of his life, Debbie, in heaven.
Gregg is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom (Mercy) Boetcher of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sharon (Bob) Lee of Shelby and Pam (Brian) Napier of Willard; 11 nieces and nephews, Robert and Christine Triebold of Chicago, Illinois, Trevor (Carlie) Ritz of Bellville, Kayla (Collin) Majoras of Shelby, Monica Lee of Shelby, Brittany (John) Gorwood of Marion, Jonathan Lee of Massachusetts, Sarah (Kobie) Hines of Bucyrus, and Emily (Jared) Nester, Lorin Napier (Wyatt Kline), and Rachael (Kyle) Buurma of Willard; special friends, Evelyn Perry, Jeff Emerick and Misty Brandt; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gregg was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Zimmerman. Gregg was also preceded in death by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” (Boetcher) Parker who passed away on July 23, 2019.
