Harriet C. Hahler, age 98 of Willard, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Mercy Hospital of Willard surrounded by her family.  She was born December 27, 1924 in Bellevue, Ohio to the late John and Veronica (Leis) Miller.  She was a 1942 graduate of Bellevue High School.  Harriet was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a former member of St. Sebastians Church and Altar Rosary Society and is a current member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio.

Harriet is survived by 10 children, Mary Jane (Skip Oliver) Hahler of Sandusky, Diane Hahler-Johnson (Roger deceased) of Berlin Township, Lawrence (Mimi) Hahler of Ivins, UT, Barbara Hahler (Mark) of Holland, OH, Joan Hahler of Elyria, James (Sue) Hahler of Willard, Donna (Mike) Niedermeier of Willard, Joseph Hahler of Findlay, Cheryl (Chris) Billmaier of Bowling Green and Kathleen (Dennis) Fox of Bellevue; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy Schaffer and Norma Young; and brother, Harold (Barb) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Veronica (Leis) Miller; husband, Howard Hahler; son, William Hahler; and 6 siblings.

Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. George Mahas officiating.  Following the luncheon, burial will be at the St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery in Bismark, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier School, 25 West Perry Street, Willard, OH 44890, or to the donor’s choice.   Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

Howard & Harriet would come in for coffee and conversation after Thursday morning Mass and always stop by the parish office to say hi to me. What an amazing couple! Mr. and Mrs. Hahler always sat near us at mass. Many times, we would see them after mass at a local fast-food establishment. We always enjoyed chatting with them. They were true role models for the community. Our condolences to the family.
