Henrietta McGinnis, age 106, lifetime resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Willows at Willard Care Center. She was born on October 27, 1909 in Plymouth to the late Stouffer and Minnie (Oudekerk) Kruger. She attended high school in New Haven and received her teaching certificate at Ohio University. She was married in 1934. Henrietta lived on Willow Drive in Plymouth, Ohio for over 60 years where she was happily married, raised her son and was an elementary school teacher. She attended Plymouth Lutheran Church and volunteered and delivered meals for years. She had wonderful friends and neighbors, who all truly loved grandma (Henri). For the last many years of Henrietta’s life, care and love was given by her niece, Jenni Milano and dear family friend, Kirk Scheid. The care that these two provided allowed her to stay in her home that she loved so much for 103 of 106 years of her life. She is eternally grateful and so are her family members who live out of state. Her son, Dennis, who passed away last year loved Jenni and Kirk so much he called them McGinnis Angels. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of out lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
She is survived by a grandson, Chad McGinnis and his wife, Rhonda of Georgia; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Korey, and Kasey; a granddaughter, Cheyne McGinnis McClellan and husband, Troy of Arizona; great grandchildren, Robey and Keanan; special niece, Jenni Milano (Kirk Scheid) of New Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Mack” McGinnis in 1968; a son, Dennis McGinnis in 2014; and three sisters, Grace Milano, Virginia Moser, Hermina Osborn; and brother, Harm Kruger.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. with a graveside service to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio at 11:30 A.M.
