Hubert W. Conley, age 84, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born on August 17, 1928 in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Virgie (Chaffins) Conley. Mr. Conley was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII and Korea and retired from the B&O Railroad. Hubert was a member of the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church and loved to fish, work in his garden and tinker around in his garage.
He is survived by his wife, Nora (Bolen) Conley, whom he married on February 19, 1956; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Lauri Conley of Willard, and David and Kelly Conley of Germantown, Illinois; one grandson, Camden Conley; and two brothers, Irland Conley and Mont Conley.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Conley and sister, Girley Conley.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, with the Elders of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church. So sorry to hear the news of Huberts death. I will never forget the kindness he showed my dad (Irland) and me when we stayed in his home while attending Elmer’s funeral. Dad is in the Veteran’s home in Hazard now and is 96. If he were able, I’m sure he would come to Hubert’s funeral. You all are in our prayers.
