Jan (Jump) Smith, age 60, of Willard, Ohio, passed away at her home Tuesday, January 28, 2014. She was born on February 6, 1953 in Willard, Ohio to the late Walter “Bud” and Avanell “Abby” (Jones) Jump. She was a patient registrar at the Willard Mercy Hospital for many years. Jan enjoyed her 2 cats and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Ryan (Angela) Perkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; 2 daughters Danielle (Ben) Gibbs of Cincinnati, Ohio and Michelle Perkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Tanner, Mason, Addison, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Kiersten and Stacia; brother, Kurt (Bev) Jump of Bowling Green, Ohio; sister Pam (Paul) King of Willard, Ohio and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Bud” and Avanell “Abby” (Jones) Jump and a brother Terry Jump.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. where a service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Sr. Diane Hay officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to Stein Hospice or the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. I will always remember childhood memories when we were young especially slumber parties at jans house. she always had a story to tell and we would laugh for hours on end.she will always hold a special place in my heart, may god be with you and your family.your classmate, Susie.
No one could tell a story like Jan. She made me laugh more, harder and longer than anyone else since we were third-graders together. Precious memories. RIP, Jan Gay.

These condolences are a testament to so many lives impacted by knowing Jan. So many precious memories flood my thoughts. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. She was so proud of you kids, and grandkids. May God in His mercy give you comfort and peace. I know she is in Heaven dancing to Bob Segar tunes with that gorgeous smile on her face.

My heart goes out to you all. Jan was an awesome person. When she laughed, everyone wanted to laugh along even if you didn’t know why she was laughing. No matter what life threw at her, she smiled through it and persevered. She fought a good fight and showed us all how to live to the very end. We will all miss her…

No doubt that anyone who knew Jan is a better person for it! Jan, you fought a good fight and I know that Heaven is going to be even a happier place with you in it! I have a feeling that you are already telling your funny stories (like that shopping trip we went on with Jan D)!! You’ll always be an inspiration to me and my forever friend. I’m thankful for having the honor of knowing you! Rest easy my friend.
