John M. “Blackie” Osborne, age 77, resident of rural Shiloh, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 in the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on August 14, 1931 in McDowell, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Rebecca (Lawson) Osborne and had been a Shiloh resident for over 40 years. He was a retired coal miner having worked in the Kentucky mines and had worked at the former Fate-Root-Heath in Plymouth, Ohio. He attended the Shiloh United Baptist Church and was a member of the United Mine Workers.
He is survived by a son, David (Teresa) Osborne of Greenwich; two daughters, Deborah (Hank) Robinson of Shiloh; and Rebecca (Ed) Miller of Bucyrus; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Osborne of Lebonan, Ohio and Charles “Babe” Osborne of Plymouth; one sister, Vonnie Moore of McDowell, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laverne Osborne in 2001; six brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 6 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the Shiloh United Baptist Church on Tuesday at 11 A.M. with Reverend Delmer Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. I am sorry to hear about Blackie. I am the grand daughter of Burton Tuttle. I remember those two going fishing together when I was a little girl. Blackie and Vernie were both wonderful people. He will be sadly missed.

I was saddened when I read about your dad passing. May God Be With You and Your families at this time and always. The fond memeories I have of your mom and dad will stay with me always.
