John R. Michaels, Sr., age 79 resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Mercy Willard Hospital. He was born on September 29, 1934 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Raymond and Doris (Swander) Michaels and had been a resident of Richmond township for 47 years. He was a 1953 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and worked at National Machinery in Tiffin for 48 1/2 years. He loved his family, farming, John Deere tractors and putting puzzles together. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Rose Marie (Babb) Michaels whom he married on April 27, 1957; 6 children, John Michaels, Jr. of Findlay, Jill Paramore (John Dye) of Plymouth, Judy (Nick) Kousma of Willard, Jodi (John) Hall of Plymouth, Jeny Lewis of Willard, and Joel Michaels of Willard; a brother, Fred Michaels of Caroline; 2 sisters, Sylvia Coder of Attica and Audrey Weller of Tiffin; grandchildren, Jeremy, Kindra, Ashley, Chelsey, Philip, William, Jacqueline, Jessica, Dillon, Genevieve, DJ, Joshua, Jason, Justin; 18 great-grand children and numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he preceded in death by a brother Earl Michaels.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Willard with Fr. Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Attica, Ohio.
