John Wesley Moore Jr. finished his earthly journey on October 2, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1934, in Elliott County, Kentucky, to John Wesley Sr. and Amanda (Roe) Moore.  In 1957 John made the trip up Route 23. He was one of the first hires at the Ontario General Motors Plant; working as a crane operator until retirement.

He and his wife Patricia married in 1958, celebrating 53 years together until her death in 2011. Together they raised their family on a farm near Johnsville, Ohio. They were faithful members of the Old Regular Baptist Church.

John was a good man, a simple man, and a man who was smarter and wiser than any formal education he could have achieved. His name is synonymous with the words hardworking and self-sacrificial. His love for farming and red trucks and tractors was only surpassed by his love for his family.

He is survived by his sons, John (Julie) Moore of Muncie, Indiana; Jeremy (Shanna) Moore of Mansfield, Ohio and his daughters, Pamela (Doug) Madore and Jennifer (Artemio) Avecilla, both of Lexington, Ohio. His heritage lives on in his beloved 11 grandchildren, Seth, Zackary, Josh and Sarah Moore, Brittnay (Noah) Stampfli, Andrew, Rachel, and Elisabeth Madore, Nicholas Jones, Aaron (Maddie) and Ryan Moore.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, his brother and sister-in-law
Delbert and Ruth Moore, his sisters Mary (Leo) Barker, Glenna Archer, Dorothy Cross, his much-loved brother-in-law Joe Cross and his nephews Gary and Tracy Archer. Additionally, his family included his half siblings Bryant Moore, Elija Moore, Virgil Moore, Vennie Skaggs and Ila Thornsberry, who have all proceeded him in death.

The void John has left in the lives and hearts of those who loved him is great.

John's life will be celebrated by family, friends and his beloved church family at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, 4982 Henry Road, Plymouth, Ohio 44865 on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM where his service will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Elder Danny Carty officiating. Burial will follow at the Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church.
