Junior Holida, age 84, of Willard passed away January 10, 2013 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky after a long battle with dementia. He was born September 13, 1928 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Camilla (Mills) Holida. He married Lucy (Barnett) Holida on September 17, 1949.
Junior worked for Norfolk and Western Railroad and retired in 1987. He served God for many years and loved attending many churches. He enjoyed singing, playing his banjo and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Juel Hicks of Willard, Jeddy Holida of Willard and Brenda (Donald) Proffitt of Willard; a daughter-in-law, Debra Holida of Willard; his grandchildren Crystal, Paul, Jay, Heather, Sherry, Mikel, Justin and Brooke; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; his sisters Josephine Rowe, Norma Jean Holmer and his brothers Virgil, Richard, Dean, Chester and Raymond Holida.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Judy Holida; his son James Holida; his granddaughter Julie Stine; a great grandson Patrick Kish; 4 brothers Courtney, Jimmy, Robert and Chalmer and 3 sisters Zelda, Bessie and Cosby.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Willard, Ohio from 4:00-9:00PM with a prayer service conducted at 6:00PM. Funeral service will be Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00PM with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
