Kenneth W. Haueter, 82, of Willard, Ohio passed away on January 15, 2022 at Mercy Hospital of Willard. He was born on March 15, 1939 in Bolivar, Ohio to the late Sherwood and Irene (Class) Haueter.

During his college years, Ken was an avid athlete in playing both basketball and track at Kent State University and Ashland University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army for two years. Upon his return home, Ken went to work for the former RR Donnelley & Sons, which he retired from in 1999. A man of strong faith in Jesus Christ, Ken was part of a 5-member group that helped in establishing the Christian Alliance Church in Willard. In addition to being part of the Governing Board, he was an Elder, taught Sunday school and was the Treasurer.

In his spare time, Ken loved watching sports, especially basketball and spending time outdoors. He was knowledgeable in the stock trading world, even into retirement. A dedicated family man, he also enjoyed time spent with his 1956 T-Bird.

Ken is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife, Brenda (Blasenhauer) Haueter, of 61 years; three children, Greg (Sharry) Haueter, David Haueter (Ingrid Kretschmann) and Beth (Matthew) O’Leary; seven grandchildren, Abby, Matthew (Kaitlyn Wilson, fiancé), Katie, Nathan, Andrew, Jordin and Madelyn; sister, Kaye (John) VanMeter; sister-in-law, Elaine (Nelson) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Haueter; his parents; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fern and Carl Blasenhauer.

Family and friends are invited to attend Ken’s funeral service on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Christian Alliance Church in Willard at 11:00 a.m. where his son, Pastor Greg Haueter will officiate. We are shocked at the loss of Ken in this time of uncertainly. I was glad to have worked with Ken so many years in accounting at RRD. Ken was always a leader, and hope Brenda can get through this time of sorrow.

When word reached me about Ken going Home to be with Jesus, two thoughts filled my mind. First, I could picture Jesus hugging Ken and saying “Welcome Home.” The second thought was one of deep grief. Ken was like a brother to me. I walked beside Ken for eleven years. I have never known any Christian man who had such integrity, had such a love for Jesus, and was sold out to follow Jesus. I often thought that if every church in America had one Ken Haueter in it, there would be revival throughout our land. Ken, we will miss you terribly but you have left us a marvelous example to follow. When it comes my time to go to heaven I will be looking for you. Let’s meet at Jesus feet!!

Brenda and Family, Ken was such a kind, knowledgeable and gracious man. I have such fond memories of the years I attended the Willard CMA church and I will always be grateful for the spiritual growth I experienced under Ken's Bible teaching. May the Lord comfort and sustain you as you go through this difficult time. With sympathy and prayers. Sandy Simpson Swineford

Brenda, We are so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. We worked together on many projects at RRD,the financial end. Later we sat side by side as we enjoyed many Willard High School basketball games. You and Ken were a great couple. Your kids and our kids were classmates. We hadn’t seen much of one another in recent years but as we drive east on 224 we always think of you. RIP Ken

As a young pastor I looked up to Ken as a spiritual mentor. He was a consistent, godly example to me of a true Christ-follower. He was a church leader, prayer warrior, and personal friend to me. Without his influence the Alliance Church would not have made the impact in the community that it has. I will always be indebted to Ken for the blessing he has been in my life.
Dave and Anna Bores - Jan 18, 2022
Ken was so special to Dave and me. I was only eighteen years old when I met he and Brenda. Ken was a great mentor to me as my first Sunday School teacher. He was a kind man and we loved and respected him. We send our love and prayers to the whole family.

Brenda and family, this so saddens me. I always respected Ken (and you as well, Brenda!). But, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord…We can take heart in that. ~ Susan Wiles Hellinger
