Wayne is survived by his wife of 70 years, Janet (Wilkinson) Stanfield; children, Kenneth G. (Dawn) Stanfield, Loree Fankhauser, and Matthew W. Stanfield; 6 grandchildren, Chad, Danny, Rachel, Philip, Corey and Curt; 12 great-grandchildren; sister at heart, Nedra; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyson McKenzie; 6 brothers, Howard, Orval, Owen, Kerry, Warren and Doyle; and 2 sisters, Agatha Vaughn and Corrine Gowitzka; and many beloved in-laws and friends.

Wayne loved being part of his large family, and his extended family.  He loved being with his many friends and enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and Gulf in Florida.  His sense of humor was loved.

Wayne was a 1955 graduate of Willard High School.  He devoted many years to the Willard Fire Department and helped establish the First EMT Squad.  He loved the guys and gals there.  He worked at RR Donnelley in Willard for 32 years before moving to Florida.  In Florida, Wayne got a boat and successfully fished in the Gulf of Mexico (America) with family and friends often.  He earned his Captains License while managing an ABC Liquor Store in Bradenton.  In retirement he crafted handmade holiday displays that his family will treasure.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Wayne at Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 S. Myrtle Ave, Willard, Ohio 44890 on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. When I think of Uncle Wayne, I remember the sparkles in his eyes and his ornery grin. He was such a joyful and loving guy. Maybe that is why he was so tolerant of his naughty niece (that would be me!). I'm thankful he is at rest and kicking it up with the angels. But saddened for the loss to friends and family.

Aunt Jan and all of sweet Unc’s family, I am so truly sorry for your loss. Uncle Wayne lit up so many faces with his bright smile and crazy sense of humor!! Daddy used to so enjoys emails Unc sent me to print out for him. He would chuckle for days!! We will miss him so very much, but I am thankful his pain is gone. I can’t even imagine the reunion of those silly nine sibs. God bless each of you and hold you tight during this sorrow. Love you all! Bev
