Kizer had known my family for over 60 years. I first remember meeting him when I was about ten years old. He was truly genuine and humble. Growing up, I became friends with him and Mary Jane, his children, and grandchildren. Visiting him over the years was always a pleasure. Kizer’s stories and memories he often shared dated back as far as the early 1950s. The perspective he had on life is one we should all have: be honest, do good, and always trust the Lord. It was difficult to see him pass away as he did. I will miss visiting him and listening to the stories about his early life and the members of my family he knew. However, I am glad he is no longer suffering and is finally at peace. My sincerest condolence to the Kilgore family.
