Ladora "Jackie" Studer, age 93, of New Washington, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Altercare Nursing Home in Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born June 27, 1927 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Cleveland and Hazel (Green) Swartzmiller. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington. She was a hard worker who enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking, taking care of the yard, and most of all, spending time with her large family. Granny's house was the hotspot for many kitchen table conversations, family yard sales, and endless games of Canasta and Euchre. She was known for her pumpkin cookies and apple crisp. By far, the best family memory with Granny will always be Christmas Eve nights full of love, food, laughs, presents and family pictures under the tree.

She is survived by 11 children, Urban H. (Gale) Studer of Bucyrus, Marjorie Powell of Bucyrus, Ladora Jean (Ed) Rowe of Iberia, Doris (Roy) King of New Washington, Julia (Louis) Sanders of Attica, James Studer of Willard, Therese Karl of Tiro, Brenda (Russell) Kehres of Tiro, Patricia (David) Franken of Dublin, Shirley (Greg) Rotruck of Attica and Mark (Amy) Studer of Dublin. She was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Urban C. Studer; parents, Cleveland & Hazel Swartzmiller; daughter, Carolyn S. Kalb; brother, Joe Swartzmiller; 4 sisters, Goldie Flood, Arminta Kanieski, Helen Pine and Geraldine Kessler; daughter-in-law, Dianne Studer; 3 sons-in-law, David Kalb, Philip Powell and Clement Karl.

There will be calling hours on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington where there will be a Rosary Service at 10:15 AM. The funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM on Friday at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, with Fr. Mike Diemer officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bernard Catholic Church or to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital. I have happy memories of Aunt Jackie, with her warm smile, easy conversation, and gracious way of making you feel at home. Back in childhood days, visiting Uncle Urbie and Aunt Jackie were exciting times. It is wonderful how she lived her life to its fullest. She will be missed. My thoughts and sympathies are with all of you.

Some of my fondest memories are those of going to Aunt Jackie’s and Uncle Urbie’s. No matter what time of day or season of the year they always made you feel welcome. And, there was always room for one more at their kitchen table. This is also true in my adult years when, while in New Washington visiting my Mom, on a couple occasions I stopped unannounced to see Aunt Jackie (of course it was at a meal time and she would “make” me eat). I at times wondered how they kept track of all the kids. Especially when they went to the family reunion in Williard and had to take several cars. Our prayers are with you and remember all the good times. Love, Ray and Linda

My thoughts are with the Family at this very sad time. I worked with Ladora at Pioneer Gloves for 13 years before becoming a Nurse. She was a no non-sense lady that could smile and talk if you engaged her in conversation. May she rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother. She was so lucky to have a family like all of you. Her home was such a hub of love and activity. You were all so supportive of her and I am sure she appreciated everything you did for her. I know these last months have been hard not being able to spend time with her. I hope it is a comfort knowing your parents will be together this Christmas. May she find peace in Gods loving hands. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
