Rev. Tom Wright, age 71, of Willard, Ohio passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born November 25, 1946 in Willard, Ohio to the late Samuel and Alice (Shepherd) Wright. He was a retired engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Tom's life revolved around the Crestline Church of God, where he was a member and pastor for the last ten years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed cooking, carpentry, playing the guitar and singing.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wilma (Slone) Wright; 7 children, Timothy Wright of N.C., Tamera Marie Wright (Bob) Pickett of Jackson, MI, Becky S. Waters (Steven) of Jackson, MI, Valerie Bettac (Danny) of Willard, Gregory Hall of Ashland, Tracey Hall of Willard and Greta Hall-Atkins (Aaron Luna) of Charleston, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Hansel Wright of Elizabethtown, KY; 4 sisters, Lois Robinson of Plymouth, Kathy Bishop of New Washington, Sharon Kilgore of Willard and Suvon Manion of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Wright; mother, Alice Wright; brother, Wallace Bud Wright; 2 sisters, Jewel Man and Jean Howard.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Bob Craft officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribtuions may be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky.
