LaVon G. Dole, age 82, resident of Knoxville,TN, passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 at the Lebanon Country Manor in Lebanon, OH. She was born on June 16, 1922 in Oberlin, OH to the late William and Mamie (Hall) Musselman. She graduated from Republic High School in 1940. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Lebanon, a founder of the Willard Garden Club, a 4-H Leader from 1950-1956 in Huron County and was an active leader in the Girl Scouts from 1956-1965.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Leslie R. and Jeanne Dole of Knoxville, TN; one daughter and a son-in-law, Melodee and James Ashby of Lebanon, OH; four grandchildren and spouses, Bryn and Susan Dole of Sunnyvale, CA, Lora Dole and Dan Friedman of NYC, Julie Ashby of Amarillo, TX and Rebecca Ashby of Lebanon, OH; one great grandson, Alexander Robert Dole of Sunnyvale, CA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Robert Dole; her parents, William and Mamie (Hall) Musselman; and three brothers, Ronald, Warren, and Raymond Musselman.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Marty E. Egleston officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
