Leon "Chu" Vargas, age 20, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1999 in Houston, Texas.

Chu attended Plymouth High School, where he was active on the football team, and LifePoint Community Church in Plymouth. Family was everything to Chu; his best friend was his cousin, Olivia, he was always very involved in family events and loved his nieces and nephews more than anything. His life goal was to be their hero and he strived to be the best uncle possible. Chu had no enemies, was loved by everyone and created life long friendships. He enjoyed his Pitbull, Ace, and lifting weights.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Shelley (Bivens) Vargas; his brothers, with whom he had a very strong bond with, Daniel Aguado, Javier Vargas and Nicolas Vargas; nieces and nephews, Maria, Arianna, Gabriella, Alex, Jaxon, McKenzie, McKenna and Lilliana Vargas; maternal grandmother, Joyce Garcia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Bivens; aunt, Sondra Bivens-Newsome; uncle, George "Butchy" Bivens Jr.; and his best friend and canine companion, Ace.

There will be no services held at this time. Memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

I never knew this amazing kid, I am only 14, born in 2007, but I will keep him in my prayers. We have a game at home vs St. Paul and before I can play, I'm. going to pray for him and his family. God bless.

I knew Chu through meetings in Mansfield. He was a very insightful young man. I was always glad to see him. He expressed a deep love for his family and friends. I know there are no words. You do not walk alone in your grief. God Bless.

chewy was around enough throughout my childhood for him to be considered family. i will never forget all of the fun we had together as kids. rest in peace to a genuine soul.
