Letha V. (Lane) Wallen, age 83, born July 5th, 1923 in Wise, VA to Hector G. Lane and Virginia (Crabtree) Lane, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 16, 2007 after a short illness.
Mrs. Wallen retired from MedCentral Hospital with 26 years of service. She loved to cook, sew, tend to her garden and collect dolls. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, two sons and daughters-in-law: Gregory R. and Millie Wallen of Tekoa, Washington and Dwight L and Celene A. Wallen of Mansfield; two daughters, Cynthia P. and Claudia E. Wallen of Shelby; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one brother, Cowen E. Lane of Maryland; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean and Eugene Cookenour of Kingsport, TN and Fannie Steele of Wise,VA; and her devoted pet, Curly Jo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Lane; and two sisters, Hattie Mullins and Blanche Yates.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, where the funeral will be at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bradley Smith officiating.
