Lowell B. Sparks, of Monroeville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 27, 1932 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late George “Stan” Stanford Sparks and Fannie (Bascom) Sparks stein.

Throughout his youth, he worked for his father’s business in Monroeville.  After high school, Lowell proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard before he began working for Norwalk Furniture.  He then went to work for Ford Motor Company.  He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service where he performed several jobs including plastic molding.  During his 28.5 years of retirement, he travelled extensively all over the country.  He loved shopping at flea markets and auctions and was a wheeler-dealer.  He was a farmer, fisherman, and painter.  He was an aficionado for John Deere tractors.  He was skillful in woodworking and found joy in riding ATVs and 4-wheelers in the desert and mountains.  His favorite pastime was telling stories and he would stop and talk to anyone.  Most of all, his family was his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them.

Lowell was from the Monroeville area but currently resided in Tacna, Arizona.  He was a 40 plus year member of the Monroeville American Legion and Lifetime Member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle in Lincoln City, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Newman) Sparks, whom he married on January 26, 2012; children, Pam (Sam) Kelly of Willard, Ohio; Barbara Gildart (Tony Simas) of Vancouver, Washington; Diana Sparks Budde of Vancouver, Washington; Linda (David) King of Galion, Ohio; Gayle Hedeen of Norwalk, Ohio; Jill (Gary) Smith of Monroeville, Ohio; and Leonard Sparks (Tricia Lane) of Monroeville, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Schwan of Monroeville, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Stanford Sparks and his previous wives, Marilyn A. (Widman) Sparks and Carolyn J. (Hindle) Sparks.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 where his Remembrance Ceremony will be at 6:00 PM.  There will be a private burial at Greenfield Cemetery in Stueben, Ohio.  Online condolences may be made to Lowell’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com
