Mable L. Blackburn, age 77, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in Willard Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on April 4, 1929 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Verlie ‘Buck’ and Jettie (Thompson) Blair and had been a Willard resident since 1953. She was a member of the Ripley Church and attended the Eternal Life Tabernacle Church in Willard. She had worked at the John F. Stambaugh Company and later Hillside Acres Nursing Home. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, collecting nature figurines and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James ‘Junior’ Blackburn, who she married July 17, 1948; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Zan and Joyce Blackburn of Prestonsburg, KY; Dallas Ray and Delia Blackburn of Monroeville; Donald Eugene and Ellen Blackburn of Willard; fourteen grandchildren, Shelley Weathers, Dallas Blackburn, Ryan Blackburn, James Blackburn, Jason Blackburn, Kenneth Blackburn, Dustin Blackburn, Joseph Blackburn, Ricky Branham, Joshua Branham, Kristen Blackburn, Kyle Blackburn, Timothy Blackburn, and Rebekah Blackburn; seven great grandchildren; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Robert Dean and Midge Blair; Frederick Kern and DeeAnn Blair; John Richard Blair; Billy Carson and Shirley Blair all of Prestonsburg, KY; James Edward and Pam Blair of Columbia, TN.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by, a son Daryl Blackburn; three sisters, Ruth Deloris Blair, Carolina Jane Goble and Melba Jean Meade.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, March 2, 2007 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
