Mable M. Buffington, age 79, resident of Shelby, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her home. She was born on March 6, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Arvel and Eva (Shepherd) Shepherd and had been a resident of the Shiloh area most of her life. Mrs. Buffington was a homemaker and a founder of the Pentecostal Holiness House of Fellowship in Plymouth where she was a pastor for 38 years. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved preaching the Gospel and serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by two sons and daughters in-law, Calvin (Connie) Buffington of Stanton, KY, and Arvel (Melissa) Buffington of Plymouth; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melody (Terry) Boyd of Shelby, Cynthia (Ottis) Bradford of David, KY, Eva (Tim) Stumbo of Plymouth; five grandchildren whom she raised, Lynn Cole of Greenwich, Lorie Cole of Chicago, Marvin Cole of Shiloh, Charles Cole of Stanton, KY, and April Dawson of Plymouth; an additional 25 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Velva Johnson of Shiloh, Evelyn Barnett of Greenwich, Ella Williams of Greenwich, Sally Winninnham of Shelby, Elsie Stamper of Mt. Vernon, and Alice Fletcher of Tiro; three brothers, Roger Shepherd of Shiloh, Arvel Shepherd Jr. of Canada, and Isaac Shepherd of Chatfield.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Buffington in 2004; two daughters, Vickie Ann Cole and Maggie Brown; and twin brothers, Abraham and Daniel Shepherd.
Visitation will be held at the Pentecostal Holiness House of Fellowship, SR 103, Plymouth, Ohio on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with church services at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darren Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
