Madelene L. (Smith) Kostoff, age 81, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Briarfield Nursing Home in Milan, Ohio. She was born on February 26, 1929 in Attica, Ohio to the late Wayland and Ruby (Nagel) Smith and had been a Willard resident all her life. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard, the Eastern Stars and the American Legion Auxilary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Deb Kostoff of Willard; two grandsons, Chet (Heather) Kostoff of Livonia, MI and Dirk Kostoff of Willard; two sisters, Donna Jean (Duane) Funk of Michigan; and Marilyn Arrington of Georgia; a brother, Ronald (Carol) Smith of New Hampshire; a sister-in-law, Helen Rinker of Willard.
In additon to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Kostoff in 1997; and two children, Karen and Greg Kostoff
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 P.M. where funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M.at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial expressions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

John and family, I am truly sorry for your loss. Madeline always was a great mother and wife and I am sure a WONDERFUL grandmother . She was a real saint!! I always smile when I think of her and Chester. We were very lucky to have such good friends and they were a always a HUGE part of that friendship. We are so sorry to hear of Madelene’s passing. She was such a nice lady and I remember sharing many a laugh with her whenever I saw her. My mother, Hazel Lewellen, was in pinochle club with her for years. Please accept my mom and dad’s condolences also. May God grant you peace and comfort. She is at peace now.
