Marilyn C. Fidler, age 79, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her home. She was born on June 7, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Edward and Emma Bodkin. She was a 1948 graduate of Shelby High School. She retired from the Plymouth School System in 1991 where she worked as a secretary. Marilyn was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Ohio and the Plymouth American Legion Auxillary.
She is survived by her Husband, J. Max Fidler; three children, Jane Yeager of Plymouth, John Fidler of Plymouth and Judy (Darren) Gregg of Ontario; one brother, Edward (Joanne) Bodkin of Shelby; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Joseph Tetlow; one son, William L. Fidler; one grandson, Bret Michael Yeager; one brother, Joseph Bodkin and one sister, Ruth Mess.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 2:00-5:00PM with an American Legion Auxillary Service at 5:00PM. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:30AM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. David Sipes and Minister Carol Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the MedCentral Hospice or the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her journey on earth was shortened by illness but, her memories will live on forever.
