Mary Ann Kreim, age 82, lifelong resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Virgil and Dolores (Hiler) Kaple. Mary Ann was also a lifelong member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church.

A New Washington High School graduate, Mary Ann went on to receive her Cosmetology license from The Ohio State University. Having a beauty shop in her own home allowed her the opportunity to both work and raise her family. Mary Ann’s family was particularly important to her. She cherished the time spent with them, whether on their family vacations over the years or watching her grandsons at their school and sporting events. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and crafting.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Kreim; three daughters, Heather (Jon) Crissinger, Sheila (Patrick) Teynor and Erin (Ryan) Nusbaum; seven grandsons, Noah, Adam and Levi Crissinger, Jackson and Dillon Teynor, and Zachary and Jacob Nusbaum; sister, Jane Ganzhorn; two brothers, Lee (Carolyn) Kaple and Jeff Kaple; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Kaple.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Eric Mueller officiating. So sorry to hear of Mary Ann's passing. I used to love taking Mom to her house to get her hair done, so I could visit with Mary Ann. She was such a nice person and fun to be with. We had some great conversations, and I will really miss her.

We send you are deepest sympathy. I met Mary Ann when I came to New Washington as a first year teacher. Heather, you were in my 1st grade class. I was a Columbus, city girl trying to adjust to small time living. Mary Ann was so friendly and encouraging to me, especially with her calming voice. Through the years, we would run into each other. We would spend time catching up, but it seemed to always end up talking about our families. She was so very proud of you three girls and your families and loved you so much. Jerry you were with her many times and patiently listened to our chatting. You two made a great team and it was evident how much love you had for each other. I know she will be missed so much, but we all can rejoice we will see her again in heaven.

I have no words! Mary Ann was my #1 favorite Aunt!!! She had such a energetic and positive voice I can hear it from her eternal resting place with the Lord!!! She always, ALWAYS was behind me, no matter what challenges I faced and what silly dreams I had as a different individual! She always was nice to my family and encouraged me to do my best! She also knew how to perm my 80's hair!! I will never forget all the fun and exciting conversations I had with her in her shop!!! I send much Florida Sunshine to her family who survive her and know she is looking down on them and is super proud! Her hard work lives on in her wonderful children and grandchildren and my own family is sad but happy she is in eternal life with God!! Be well all and thank you for reading!

I was so sad to hear of Mary Ann's passing. We had so many wonderful memories of times that our families spent together. It was even more special because our families were closely related because it was two brothers having married two sisters. We especially enjoyed times spent at Lake Erie. And I also fondly remember our family reunions.
