Mary A. Rose, age 76, resident of Willard, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Hillside Arces Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born on September 11, 1928 to the late Melvin and Leona (Hassinger) Kriss and had been a Monroeville resident moving to Willard 1965. Mrs. Rose was employed with Home Savings and Loan in Norwalk and Willard and a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, past president of the Altar Rosary Society and was active in the Nickle Plate and Mad River Railroad Museum in Bellevue. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, loved fishing, dogs and flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Rose, whom she wed on October 25, 1952; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim and Teresa Rose of Delaware, OH; John Rose of Jacksonville, FL; Richard Rose of Willard; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Dennis Rees of Willard; Barb Borgelt and friend Jerry Eitle of Willard; Carol and Ed Kelsey of Greenwich; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and John Thomas; an infant brother, Bob Kriss; a daughter-in-law, P.J. Rose.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monady at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville, Ohio. Memorial expressions can be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
