Mary Vetter, age 56, of Woodbine Street, Willard, passed away Wed., May 30, 2007 at the Willard Mercy Hospital following a lenghty illness with cancer. She was born Aug. 30, 1950 in Willard, Ohio to the late Walter and Evelyn (Burkhart) Smith. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard. Mary served the community by working at Dr. Piller’s office, Hillside Acres Nursing Home, the Willard Hospital, Dr. Hookway’s office, Fisher-Titus Medical Center Home Health, Dr. Breslin’s office, Dr. Mummert’s office and Dr. Avendano’s office. She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball as well as sewing and crafts. She loved the comfort of her puppy dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Vetter, whom she married May 3, 1969; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey & Sandy Vetter of Mansfield and John & Amie Vetter of Delaware, OH; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Boyer of Bellevue, Patricia (Kenny) Wolford of Shelby, Donna (Randy) Huff of Willard and Carolyn Smith of Vacaville, CA; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, David Smith of Willard, Gary Smith of Columbus, Robert Smith (Nanette Grayson) of Vacaville, CA and William (Bonnie) Smith of Plymouth; numerous nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Evelyn (Burkhart) Smith.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 P.M., with Fr. Stanley S. Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, OH. Memorial expressions may be made to Willard Relay For Life.
