Matthew Wayne Archer, age 56, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on December 27, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 3, 1966 in Toledo, Ohio to Patricia (Everett) Emerson and the late Russell Wallace.

Matthew was a past employee of Brost Foundary. He was a hard worker who loved life; whether it was sitting in his driveway with his dog Buckeye or riding uptown to chat with the local mechanics or hardware store owner. Matthew and Naline’s house had an open-door policy with their family and friends and would give the shirt off of their backs for anyone in need. As an avid sports fan, he never missed a NASCAR race. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed traveling to visit his out of state family members.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and primary caregiver, Naline (Shepherd) Archer, who he married on December 24, 1987; five children, Faith Ann Francis, Eric Michael (Ashley) Shepherd, Nicholas Allen Whyel, Hope Amber (Barton) Young and Charity Ruth (Wayne) Estep; eight grandchildren, Lilly, Preston, Makayla, Hunter, Kaley, Matthew, Noah and Augustus; mother, Patricia Emerson; nine siblings, Russell (Barbara) Wallace, Dainett Bailey, Ethyl (Ed) Johnston, Tommy (Cheryl) Wallace, Debbie Pearson, Trudy Lane, Diane (Jerry) Strait, Naomi Haumbarger and Henry (Susan) Archer; and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his father, Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Denny.

Family and friends may visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Matthew’s family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Secor Funeral Home in lieu of flowers. Online condolences can be left for the family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
