Benny and Gert Elliott - Nov 20, 2011

To all Mitchell’s children; Benny and I loved to visit with your parents. Mitchell always had a smile to greet us and Sis Verda was overjoyed to have visitors. That made it easy to want to go back even before we left them. We will never forget the story of how your Mom and Dad met and how your Dad conived to get the first date. We asked him to tell us that story over and over. He never stopped enjoying the feeling of his youth. We will never stop remembering the many years of loving fellowship we have had with them as a couple. Sis Verda is like a second Mother to us and we will continue to honor her as that. You are all so blessed to have had such wonderful parents.
May God bless each and every one of you as you mourn the passing of your Father and our friend. Much love is sent your way.

Pam Crawford - Nov 20, 2011

I will always remember Mr. Shepherd’s welcoming hello and warm smile to me when I would come over to his home in Greenwich when I was a teenager. I could always see that this was a man that loved the LORD and his family. There was always delicious cakes and goodies that were offered by Linda’s mom when I came over. I always felt at home when I came in. Mrs. Shepherd would give me a big hug and greeting. I never recieved hugs like that from anyone other than a family member, so I was very surprised at first. But then, I thought to myself, “This is just how I want my home to be when I get married.” The Shepherd family are truly blessed. Mr. Shepherd will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy and prayers go out to all of the family.
