Nellie G. Gardner, age 73, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, in Norwalk. She was born on March 8, 1947, to the late Hugh Neal Sr. and Nellie (Jackson) Watkins.

Nellie worked at Fanny Farmers and Pepperidge Farm in Willard. A member of Christian Alliance Church in Willard, she organized and ran the Children’s Church Ministries, at the church. Nellie had enjoyed making crafts, such as floral arrangements, sewing, gardening, and cooking. Most of all, she loved having fun with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeffrey Gardner of Willard; four children, Charles E. Davison of Bucyrus, Charlotte Schafter of Sandusky, Gregory S. Davison of Willard, and Rochelle Gardner Eguia of Willard; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Brenda Hibbard of Norwalk.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Neal Watkins Jr.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made, in Nellie’s name, to St. Jude Children’s Research Center. Online condolences may be expressed to her family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

She had more kindness in her heart than anyone I’ve ever known. She kept me at her house when I had chicken pox and used to keep my sisters and I all summer. We would make pools in trash bags in the front yard. Heaven is beaming with her arrival, I know it. Love you Aunt Gayle.
