Nina H. Shrader, age 82, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Willard Healthcare Center in Willard. She was born on March 3, 1930 in Greenbrier, TN to the late Roy W. and Viletha (Vinson) Brown. Nina was a 1948 graduate of Attica High School. She worked for 14 years at GE in Bellevue. She retired from RR Donnelley and Sons after 30 years of working as an Executive Secretary. Nina was a member of the Willard First Presbyterian Church and recently became a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She served her church as a Deacon, Elder, Clerk of Session and member of the choir. She was Secretary of the Presbyterian Women’s Association. She was an active officer in the Attica Eastern Stars, Willard Kiwanis, Willard Memorial Library (Board of Directors and a volunteer) and The Attica Alumni Association. Nina enjoyed traveling with her husband, decorating cakes, crocheting afghans for family and friends, western style square dancing, ballroom dancing and tending to her garden.
Nina is survived by her husband, Donald C. Shrader of Willard, whom she married on October 2, 1954; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Chambers of Huron, Linda Adams of Sheldon, Iowa and Ruth (Tom) Felger of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Loraine Groves.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 AM, where Rev. Doug Winner will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky, Ohio or the charity of the donor’s choice.
