Norma Shirlene Sowders, age 90, of Shiloh, Ohio passed away on December 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 18, 1934 to the late Emmett and Lela (Skaggs) Alfrey in Shelby, Ohio. Norma enjoyed gardening and going on long walks.
She is survived by her children, Sheryl Garrett, grandchildren, Shane Garrett, Ben (Ariel) Garrett, Thomas (Jessica) Bradford and Angela (Martin) Bowen; great grandchildren, Hunter Garrett, Peyton Garrett, Reagan Garrett, Zander Garrett, Easton Bradford and Jensen Bradford; a special sister-in-law, Gay Gillum; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick “Fred” F. Sowders who passed away on August 3, 2017; sister, Wanda Phillips; brothers, Gerald Alfrey and Gene Alfrey; son-in-law, John Garrett.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio. Norma’s funeral service will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio with Pastor Robert O’Brian officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Avita Home Health and Hospice or Apostolic Faith Assembly in Mansfield, Ohio.
