Oris R. “Red” Greer, age 84, resident of Willard, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1920 in Willard and had been a life long resident of Willard. He was past owner and operator of the East Pearl Street Garage in Willard and later worked at Sharpnack II Chevy-Olds. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Willard. A 58 year member of the the Willard Elks #1370 where he was a Past Exalted Ruler, Willard American Legion, Willard Golf Club and a former treasurer of the Willard Athletic Booster Club. A veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Greer, who he married Oct. 15, 1941; one daughter, Barbara Greer of Willard; one daughter-in-law, Ruby Greer of Willard; two granddaughters, Lori and Steven Gates of Willard and Betsy Greer of Bowling Green, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lelah (Nicholas) Greer; one son, William M. “Bill” Greer; two sisters, Alice Faye King and Corrine Coe; and one brother, Carl Greer.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Gifford officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Willard Athletic Boosters Club.
