Paul A. McCarthy, age 54, resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at his home. He was born on March 27, 1954 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Ralph and Helen (Pine) McCarthy and had been a New Washington resident the majority of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Buckeye Central High School and attended the New Washington United Methodist Church. He had served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his teenage daughter, Kristina McCarthy; step daughter and husband, Sheena and Jared Love of Galion; a granddaughter, Amelia Love; four brothers, Calvin McCarthy of Alabama; Larry McCarthy of Willard; Mike McCarthy of Oregon; Bub McCarthy of Bucyrus; two sisters, Peggy Upton of Fairborn, OH; Linda Long of Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda McCarthy; and a brother, Donald McCarthy.
A memorial service will be held at the New Washington United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Pamela Sayre officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from Noon to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in New Washington. Secor Funeral Home in New Washington assisted the family with arrangements.
