Leave a message of condolence

Peter Lynn Bellamy, 71, passed away on December 4, 2020 from complications related to COVID-19.

Peter, known to some as "Fat Daddy," was a proud Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1971, and was a member of both the American Legion and the VFW. An avid golfer and squirrel hunter, he also served as a councilman and Vice Mayor for the City of Willard at one time. His greatest passion, however, was serving the Lord. He taught Sunday School for most of his adult life and acted as the Local Pastor to Union Pisgah, Richmond and Greenwich United Methodist Churches over the course of the previous fifteen years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Nathan and Andrew (Kristina) Bellamy; grandsons, Gabriel, Ethan and Owen; and two sisters, Lois (John) Howard and Holly (Dan) Whidden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bellamy; and mother, Dorothy Biemler.

Peter will be buried at Saint Alphonsus Liguori Cemetery in Peru, Ohio. A private graveside service will be held due to the current pandemic. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Peter's name. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I always loved waiting on Pete at the restaurant in Willard. I will forever hear him calling out Hi Aunt Ne Ne....as he knew that is what my nieces and nephews who attended his church called me, his love for gravy on his cottage cheese, but most of all his genuine caring for others needs around him. I witnessed him pay for many people's meals. He definitely was a generous man with a huge heart! May you all be comforted with precious memories until you meet again. I am sure he is watching over all of you!

To the Family of Pastor Pete, Please accept my prayers of sympathy for my dear Friend, Pastor Pete. One of my joys was talking with him. He was passionate about the Ministry, and ALWAYS willing to cover the hospital when I need someone for a few hours. One time he came in to visit and minister to the patients in the hospital, even though he wasn't called in. Every once in awhile, I'd call him just because I missed talking with him. My prayers are with all of you. May he rest in peace.
