Ralph W. DeWitt, age 78, resident of rural Willard, Ohio passed away on Thursady, July 20, 2006 unexpectedly at his home. He was born on May 20, 1928 in North Fairfield, Ohio to the late Glenn and Eathel (Welch) DeWitt and had been a North Fairfield area resident his entire life. Mr. DeWitt was a retired employee from the Plymouth Locomotive and had served in US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and the Plymouth Owls Club.
He is survived by by his wife of 51 years, Janice (Newmeyer) DeWitt whom he married Sept. 19, 1954; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Tina DeWitt of Titusville, PA; Kevin DeWitt of North Canton, OH; and Scott and Laurie DeWitt of Willard; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Betty DeWitt of Willard; and Glenn and Mary Ellen DeWitt of Galion; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, John and Amos ‘Robert’ DeWitt.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the North Fairfield Cemetery with a time of sharing and military rites. Memorial contributions may be made to family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhome.com
