Reed Triplett, age 79, resident of Tiro, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 10, 2005 in Village Care Center in Galion. He was born October 25, 1925 in Lackey, Kentucky to the late Zack and Elaza (Martin) Triplett and had been a Tiro resident since 1953. Mr. Triplett was a retired employee having worked 31 years with GM Motors in Ontario and was a member of the UAW Local #549. He was a member of the Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church in Wyandot, Ohio and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy A. (Stutler) Triplett whom he wed May 19, 1945; seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Reed Edward & Martha Triplett of Galion; Jerry & Dana Triplett of Mt. Gilead; Thomas & Pam Triplett of Shelby; Melvin & Roxan Triplett of Zephyrhills, FL; Richard & Heidi Triplett of New Washington; Wendell & Jill Triplett of Tiro; James Triplett of Tiro; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy & Bill Strohm of Tiro; Paula Triplett of Shelby; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Creed Triplett of Springhill, FL; one sister, Mary Wiczuk of Columbus, OH; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 5 sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday from 2-4 PM. Calling hours will resume after 5:00 PM at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church where a service will be held at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday at 10:00 AM with Elder Buddy Carty officiating. Burial will follow in the Tiro Oakland Cemetery in Tiro.
