Velman was my dad’s brother. I didn’t get to know him very much but every time I saw him he knew I was Lowell’s daughter. I went to see him preach once and it was so heartwarming when he knew who I was.

To velmans family. Your father grandfather brother to great grands. This is what Rev. Sexton left in a sermon at funeral in 2012. The stone and ripple effect. When a pebble dropped or thrown hits water the circles set in motion are far reaching it means things we do in our lives have an impact on those around us. It can be positive or negative. A single act of kindness can snowball to others. A bad choice can affect many. It can be our faith in action a helping hand perhaps good deeds. A witness to how our lives have perhaps change. Once that stone is thrown it is gone making ripples that can be far reaching. I was on the edge of my seat as I listened to Velmans wisdom. Ronnie Sallee helped at that funeral. To Velmans family. God has to say welcome home. The truth is welcome in heaven
