Ricky L. Chaffins, age 62, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at OSU Wexner Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on June 17, 1963 in Willard, Ohio to Enon Chaffins and Hazel M. (Branham) Elkins. Ricky was a 1982 graduate of Willard High School. He attended Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church and the Philadelphia Association of Churches in Kentucky. He is in the Willard High School Hall of Fame for Basketball. Ricky enjoyed arrowhead hunting and mushroom hunting. He loved all sports but especially the Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Chaffins; mother, Hazel Elkins; step father, John Elkins; sister-in-law, Deborah Chaffins; step brothers, Greg (Kim) Elkins of Winchester, Kentucky; Shane (Angie) of Greenup, Kentucky; and Mark (Angie) of Greenup, Kentucky. He is also survived by his special baby friends, Bennett and Parker and dog friends, Jenny and Chloe.
He is preceded in death by his father, Enon Chaffins; brother, Greg Chaffins; grandparents Bill and Dollie Branham and Poppy and Little Mommy Chaffins; and step brother, Morgan Elkins.
Calling hours will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 until 9:00 PM. His funeral service will be at Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, 4982 Henry Road, Plymouth, Ohio 44865, on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM with the Elders of the Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family or to Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church. RIP Ricky.He lived a block down the street from me when we were 11 or 12 years old on Park street in willard.At the same time we were in a saturday morning bowling league at pullman lanes (dynasty lanes it’s called now) Ricky,me my brother Randy and Chuck Gordan was on the same team we were calling The Flying Monkeys and we took 1 st place two years in a row,it seems like yesterday. But I had not seen or talk to him in many years.So like i said RIP Ricky and condolences to his family
