Robert C. Schwaderer, age 90, life long resident of rural New Washington, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on December 9, 1918 in New Washington to William and Emma (Knodel) Schwaderer. He was a 1937 graduate of New Washington High School and a proud US Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He retired from Timken in 1980 after 31 years. Robert was a lifelong faithful active church member serving on Church Council, Church Treasurer, various Church Committees and Cemetery Trustee. He served many years as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent and was in charge of Sunday School literature. In former years Robert and his brother Clinton raised steers. He very much enjoyed attending many different farm organization events. One of the joys in his life was gardening and sharing his produce with family, neighbors and friends.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha (Ivan) Langjahr of New Washington; three nieces, Roxann (Kenneth) Cramer of Bucyrus, Janell (Richard) Benner of New Washington and Angela (Eric) Schiefer of Bucyrus; two great-nieces, Tammy (Cramer) Hall and her husband Bo of Bucyrus and April Schiefer of Columbus; one great-nephew, Dale Schiefer of Bucyrus; and his extended family, Burton and Mary Lynn, Bob and Connie, and Eddie Geissman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clinton Schwaderer and one sister, Elnora Schwaderer.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with Reverend Joseph Bartczak officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
