Robert F. Blum, age 82, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at The Willows at Willard. He was born on December 11, 1931 in Attica, Ohio to the late Frank and Bertha (Daniel) Blum. Bob grew up in Attica, was a 1950 graduate of Attica High School and had lived in the Plymouth area for the past 40 years. He held many positions at RR Donnelley and retired in December of 1996 as a board cutter in the case making department. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, Knights of Columbus Council 885 and the Bellevue Companions. He enjoyed listening to ESPN Sports Talk Radio and was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during peace time.
He is survived by his wife, Constance “Connie” (Widman) Blum, whom he married on May 28, 1973; a son, James R (Sandra) Blum of Plymouth; 3 grandchildren Lauren Barron, Luke and Benjamin Blum; a brother, Richard (Rita) Blum of Willard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond (Lynda) Blum and a sister, Mary Ann (Leo) Fox
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Friday November 28, 2014 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM and 6:30 – 9:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth with Fr. James Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at the Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Attica, Ohio.
