Robert D. Hicks, age 61, resident of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on January 31, 2006 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness. He was born on December 29, 1944 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Dan and Susie (Wright) Hicks and had been a Mansfield resident the majority of his life. Mr. Hicks was a self-employed building contractor and a veteran of the US Army having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by a son, Robert Adam Hicks at home; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Marsha Kilgore of Shiloh; Debra and Rob Yates of Shiloh; Angela and Jimmy Elliot of Shelby; Karen and Mike Bailey of Shiloh; Jenny and Matt Roth of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; four sisters, Nancy Hicks of Plymouth; Ruth Moore of Marysville; Rita Keesy of Shiloh; Ruby Risner of Mansfield; four brothers, Willis Hicks, Jackie Hicks and Glenn Hicks all of Willard; Carl Hicks of Lima, OH; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio with Pastor Clifford Tackett officiating. Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Memorial expressions can be made to the family. www.secorfuneralhome.com
