Roy Gayheart, age 72, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Embassy of Willard. He was born on December 10, 1952 in Martin, Kentucky to the late Walker Gayheart and Ruby (Henderson) Gayheart. He worked at Wiers farm for over 50 years. He enjoyed running the roads and going to visit family. His favorite past times were having a sweet cake and Pepsi for breakfast and blaring the bluegrass when he ran the roads. He loved spending time with family and he kept the jokes coming for our entertainment. During the last years of his life, dad became a very humble man.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Kathy (Spears) Gayheart; one son, Billy (Bridget) Gayheart; two daughters, Misty (Matt) Kline and Kimberly (Aaron) Kilgore; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Vurnis and Jeff Gayheart; two sisters, Vernice Wagner and Freda Rowe; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Walker and Ruby Gayheart; sisters, Layuna Gayheart, Pearleane Gayheart and Phyllis Caudill; brothers, Bobby Gene, Dwayne, James and Sonny Gayheart; and one nephew, James Gayheart Junior.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM with a service at 5:30 PM. His funeral service will be on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with the Elders of Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
