Ruth A. “Butter” King, age 82, of Willard, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born November 7, 1927 in Willard, Ohio to the late Harry and Hazel (Kuhn) Jones. She was a court reporter and retired from the Huron County Common Pleas Court in Norwalk. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was part of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, RCIA and the 55 Plus Club.
She is survived by two sons, Tom (Nancy) King of Willard and Mike (Lana) King of Willard; two daughters, Patty King of Willard and Susan Moore of Covina, CA; eight grandchildren, Stephany Burkhalter, Angela and Kari King, Mikara Gallegos, Tim Moore, Michael King, Andrew and Nicole Blankenship; five great-grandchildren, Brentan Ryman, Alexander Burkhalter, Jacob Gallegos, Alexander King and Emma Delinger; one brother Paul (JoAnn) Jones of Willard; one sister Betty Daniel of Willard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Jones and one sister, Helen Kay Hass.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. The funeral mass will be Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, with Fr. Stanley S. Szybka officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church or Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
