Ruth L. Alt, age 90, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Heartland in Bucyrus. She was born November 5, 1920 in Shelby, Ohio to Frederick and Cora (Riedy) Sheridan, who precede her in death.
She married Gerald Alt on July 23, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1998.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Cindy Alt; one daughter, Karen Alt (Bill Baldosser); four grandchildren, Heather (Arnie) Auck, Jeremy (Tara) Shaum, Nathan Shaum, and Jennifer (Rick) Forsyth; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, James Sheridan and one sister, Bernadette Kuhn.
Also preceding her in death are one granddaughter, Angela Alt; two sisters, Esther Kinstle and Mary Moorhead; four brothers, Edward, Albert, Gerald and Fred Sheridan.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society.
Friends may call on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Bernards Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio with Father Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Washington E.M.S., the American Cancer Society or Home Care Matters Hospice. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

She was someone who welcomed me to town when I married and moved here and our friendship continued for many years….
She loved her family and devoted her life to caring and freely giving them her love……what an amazing person she was and I grew to love her a lot.
You were all so lucky to have her and I see part of her in each and everyone of you….
