Ruth Marcella Stoner of Willard died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Born in Attica, Ohio on December 7, 1916, she was the daughter of Vernon L and Estella (Heabler) Cook. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, music and traveling. Her memberships were in Woman’s Literary Guild, Ohio Eastern Star Chapter 189, D.A.R and Willard Historical Society. She was a member of the former Universalist Church of Attica and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Willard.
She is survived by her son John F. “Dodie” (Delores) Stoner Jr., granddaughters, Lisa Daniel of Attica, Kim Waggoner of Clyde and Troy (Angie) Stoner of Arcadia, Ohio; great grandchildren, Jerod and Matthew Daniel, Samantha Greathouse, McKenzie and Joshua Waggoner, Justen, Brayden and Isaac Stoner; great-great grandchildren, Derek and Jonathan Greathouse and nieces and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Stoner Sr. in 2002 whom she married March 5, 1939; sister Thelma Hoffman and brothers Henry H. and Carl Cook and a great grandson, Grant A. Stoner.
There will be a private family service and inurnment at Venice Reed Cemetery in Attica, there will be no calling hours. Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio assisted her family with funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca East Public Library or the Willard Public Library.
