Sharon R. Durnwald, age 67, resident of rural New Washington, Ohio passed away on Staurday, November 20, 2010 in the Bucyrus Community Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1943 in rural Bellevue, Ohio to the late Leon and Rose Marie (Hipp) Hay. Sharon retired from RR Donnelley, having worked there for 38 years. She was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Bucyrus Moose. Mrs. Durnwald enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Durnwald whom she married on May 4, 1963; three children, Deb (Larry) Rotruck of New Washington, Dan (Ann) Durnwald of New Washington and Doug Durnwald of Bloomville; four grandchildren, Kyleigh Fife, Kortney, David and Carson Durnwald; three brothers, Fred Hay of Willard, Larry Hay of Clyde and Steve Hay of Bellevue and two sisters, Kathi Miller of Bellevue and Sandy Dean of Bellevue.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Denny Hay; one sister, Barb Risner and one sister-in-law Shirley Hay.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington with Father James Steinle officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Kidney Center.
