Susan Stevens, age 73, lifelong resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at The Willows at Willard, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 12, 1952 in Willard to the late Robert and Pearl (White) Rufener.
A 1971 Willard High School graduate, Sue went on to work for Pepperidge Farm and retired after 34 years of employment. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was involved in volunteering for the Kid Roc event, singing and other church activities.
Sue was most proud of the home life she built for her family; her children never went hungry as she will be remembered for her amazing cooking and baking skills. When asked about her favorite dishes prepared, there are just far too many to list but the memory of the taste and her humming her favorite songs while in the kitchen are memories her children will hold forever. Christmas wasn’t just another holiday in the Stevens’s house; it was a year long preparation and the decorations were impeccable.
Sue was a devoted mother to four children, Lori (Eddie) Patrick of Ontario, OH, Greg (Tonya) Stevens of Delaware, OH, Brian (Sunshine) Stevens of Mansfield, OH, and Todd (Melinda) Stevens of Willard; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three siblings, Kenny (Janet) Rufener of Ashland, OH, Jim Rufener of Marion, OH and Sandy (Dick) Shock of Pataskala, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Stevens who passed away on June 25, 2016.
Family and friends may visit at the First United Methodist Church, 401 E Howard St., Willard, Ohio 44890, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Sue’s funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jacob W.
