Sylvester F. Wise, age 82, of Attica, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Willows at Willard. He was born on April 1, 1933 in Reed Township to the late Peter T. and Mary (Roth) Wise. Sylvester retired from Seislove Burial Vault Service in Tiffin, Ohio after 28 years of service and was a salesman for Welly’s Monuments for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, Ohio. He enjoyed gardening and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Maudsley) Wise, whom he married July 27, 1957; 3 children, Christine E. (Marvin) Bumb of Bellevue, Glen S. (Diane) Wise of Attica and Scott P. Wise of Attica; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Bumb, Brandon (Haley) Bumb, Dalton Wise and Alexis Wise; a sister, Shirley (Dale) McQuillen of Lake Placid, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary (Roth) Wise; 4 siblings, Raymond Wise, Ann Miller, Julius Wise and Mary Scherley.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, Ohio with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Attica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Ruth and family, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Sylvester:( Heaven will never be the same, now I know that with all those wonderful angels up there, there with be lots of laughter and love. I was blessed as a teenager that your family showered me with friendship and love. God bless and comfort you all. May cherished memories bring you warmth, smile, and comfort.
