Sylvia Ann Coder, age 92, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Willows in Willard. She was born on September 7, 1933 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Raymond and Doris (Swander) Michaels. Sylvia was a 1952 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington and was active in the altar society. Sylvia helped serve meals at Golden Agers. Some of her hobbies included sewing, reading, and spending time in her flower bed and garden.
She is survived by her children, Barb (Ron) Dentinger, Bob Coder and Tom (Susan) Coder; grandchildren, Alisa (Jeremy) Agozzino, Arick (Amanda) Dentinger, Nicole (Jason) Tallman, Brittney (Nate) Franley, Megan (Ben) Eitle and Adelyn (Caleb) Barnhart; great grandchildren, Isaac and Olivia Agozzino, Hunter and Addison Dentinger, Emelia, Anderson and Nolan Tallman, Andrew, Vivian and Christopher Franley, Coy and Lydia Eitle and Charlotte Barnhart; sister-in-law, Jean Michaels; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndel Coder who passed away on September 28, 2010; daughter-in-law, Betty Coder; her siblings, Edward Michaels, John (Rose) Michaels, Earl Michaels, Fred Michaels and Audrey (Don) Weller.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington from 10:00 a.m. until the start of her Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Eric Muller. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church or donor's choice. It has been over 35 years ago, I was a member of St. Bernard/Mother of Sorrows parish. Sylvia was such a sweet, kind, hard working parishioner, always smiling and so joyful. Sylvia was a great helper at our monthly Golden Ager dinners always bringing whatever was needed and a faithful church festival worker that brought many perennials to sell and share.
