Thelma Shepherd, age 84, resident of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and formerly of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Country Court Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. She was born on April 9, 1930 to the late Bill and Dovie (Cox) Conley and had been a resident of Willard since 1950. Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker and had attended the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church in Plymouth, Ohio.
She is survived by a brother, V. C. Conley of Utica, OH; two sisters, Marie Lafferty of Oklahoma City, OK and Gladys Ousley of Moore, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
In addtion to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Shepherd in 2001; three sisters, Norsie Bolen; Corsie Pedersen; and Garnet Wicker; four brothers, Herbert, Junior, Manis and Curtley Conley.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, February 2, 2015 from Twelve Noon to 3:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Elder Hargus Tuttle officiating. Aunt Thelma such a blessing to have had you as my aunt . What a kind and dear soul . All your pain and loss of Uncle Hubert has ended to be in heaven with your Lord Jesus Christ and to hear His voice say well done thou good and faithful servant enter into your rest.Knowing you are there in heaven what a blessing,to borrow from a song Go rest high on that mountain your work on earth is done .

I am so sorry to hear that Thelma passed away. Over the past few years of visiting with her I have seen what a kind and loving woman she was. I thought of her often over this past year and wondered how she was doing. But glad that she was closer to her loving family. You have all been so good to her. She was very blessed to have such a loving and generous family.
I just read it in the newspaper today. Sorry I was not able to visit at the funeral home. My prayers are with you. I know Thelma is seeing the face of God now.

Thelma, we were blessed to have you in our lives. Breaks our hearts to see you leave. Final GoodByes are the worst. I know you are in Heaven now, I’m kinda jealous cause you get to see my dad and I don’t, give him a hug for me.
You were such a loving , caring person to All you met in life. I’m sorry you never got to get back into your home here and see your pictures and your treasured memories you had there, but now you are seeing all those lived ones in Heaven !!!
