Vonda Lou (Keene) Collins, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, after her journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Even as her memory faded, her smile remained, gentle, warm, and full of the love she always carried for those around her. Her kindness, compassion, and nurturing spirit stayed with her until the very end.

Born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on November 1, 1946, to the late Virl and Inias (Hamilton) Keene, Vonda was a true example of Christian grace and strength. On January 8, 1964, she married the love of her life, Amos Collins.

Vonda was a devoted wife, mother, Mamaw, sister, aunt, and friend. As a housewife, she made it her life’s work to take care of her family not just in the daily routines, but in the way she loved deeply and gave endlessly.

She loved God with all her heart, and her faith was a quiet, steady presence in her life. She lived her values every day in how she treated people, listened, and showed up, time and time again, for those she loved.

She showed her love most clearly through cooking. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, and she made everyone feel welcome at her table. Her food always came with love, whether it was her biscuits and gravy, a perfectly golden grilled cheese, or deviled eggs.

Her loving children survive Vonda: Angie Isaac of Bucyrus, Rodney Collins of Seville, Ohio, Missy (Carlos) Gutierrez of Willard, Ohio, and her niece, whom she raised as her own daughter, Christie (Chad) Stevens of Willard, Ohio. She also leaves behind two sisters, Christine (Carrel) Beverly of Plymouth and Debbie (Phillip) Terry of Willard, and two brothers, Kent (Bobbie) Keene of New Haven and Shannon (Melody) Keene of Shelby.

Her legacy lives on in her 13 grandchildren: Taylor, Katie (Solomon), Seth, David, Jonathan, Rebekah, Trevor, Olyvia, Darius, Gavin, Raylynn, Zarian, and Xavier and in her three great-grandchildren, Delilah, Milena, and Jasper, who will grow up hearing stories about the gentle soul who loved them so deeply.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Collins, her daughter-in-law, Carman Collins, and her brothers, Eddie and Duane Keene.

Vonda’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering love, and gentle faith. She made the world better simply by being in it, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home, Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Little Rebecca Church at 11 a.m. in Plymouth with Bro. Larry Newsome and Bro. Dennis Elkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Vonda’s memory by showing kindness to someone in need, cooking a meal for a loved one, or taking a moment to truly be present with family, just as she always did.

Rest gently, Mom. You were our safe place, our soft landing, and our greatest treasure. We will carry your love with us, always.

My dear sweet Vonda, May you rest in the arms of Jesus until the day he says, "rise up my child". You were always kind to me while I was married to Bill. May all your children rejoice because you are in God's flower garden. I am sorry for your children's loss. I know what a void in your heart is like. I grieve for my dear mother everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds the family together. Rest in peace until that day God says Rise up my child.
